Chenille needles are large eye needles and are identical to a Tapestry or a Cross Stitch Needle in length and in diameter. However, the Chenille point is sharp, rather than round and blunt and is used in the art of crewel embroidery and ribbon embroidery. The most popular sizes are from a size 16 to a size 26 and each pack in this range contains 6 needles except for size 16 which comes in a pack of 5. Please remember the higher the number the finer the needle

Hand embroidery needles are sometimes referred to as crewel needles. The larger sizes are ideal when embroidering on heavy fabric with twisted yarn. The most popular needle sizes used in embroidery are from 6 to 10. Sometimes these embroidery needles are used in general sewing because of their larger eyes than that of the Sharp needle. The diameter of each needle is identical to its equivalent in the Sharp family and therefore the needle will not pierce the fabric during general sewing. 16 needles per pack.

Tapestry needles or Cross Stitch needles are a must have for every crafter and sewer alike. However it is the finer needles such as size 22, 24, 26 and 28 that are commonly used for cross stitch. The blunt round point enables the needle to pass and slip between fabrics and yarns without splitting or tearing the fibres. Use them with wool, embroidery soft cotton and stranded cotton on single canvas, double canvas, Aida and open mesh fabric. Sizes 16 and 28 contain 5 needles per pack. Sizes 18 to 26 contain 6 needles per pack.
